Summer Drive to Suncadia
Saturday August 11, 2007 at 9 AM
The Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier is still undergoing
renovations, along with the park, in general, after the devastation
of the November floods. So we are going to take our August Drive to
Suncadia again. It was very well received last year and we hope to
see many of the same smiling faces, along with some new ones.
The Inn at Suncadia is built in the style of an old
National Park Inn. Suncadia Resort is nestled in theWenatchee Forest
of the Cascades, near Cle Elum,Washington. Suncadia is a new 6500
acre residential community featuring: three golf courses, outdoor
activities (biking, fishing, hiking, and cross-country skiing) and a
lodge with 14 guest rooms and restaurant. The new conference center,
spa and village should be completed this year too.
The drive up to Suncadia will take us through our
favorite back roads to North Bend and then I-90 to Rosylyn, a
picturesque coal-mining town that was featured in the “Northern
Exposure” television show. After exploring Roslyn we will head off
to the lodge for a 1:30 pm lunch date. There will be reserved
parking for our vehicles.
After lunch don’t miss the Cle Elum Bakery (founded
1906), meat market, clock shop and antique shops before heading back
home.
The Inn will be providing us with a private room and
terrace overlooking the golf course. A lunch buffet will be served
for $28.25 per person (includes tax and gratuity). The Inn requires
a minimum food and beverage guarantee so we need your RSVP soon.
